It is looks a lot like ^ and quite honestly it has always reminded me of a swimsuit coverup. It's super comfortable and you can just throw it in the washer. I have two of them. Anyway, I got several compliments. The other moms were asking if I had plans for the day. Truth is I'm having cramps and the thought of wrapping anything around my bloated midsection is more than I can handle. I, by no means looked nice. I had gone to bed with a wet head the night before and wasn't wearing any makeup. Don't get me wrong, that is norm for me. It just made me realize how crappy I must really look every other day. Then, this afternoon I had a lady come out to measure my closet for shelving and she asks, "How many pair of shoes should I allot for, 50?" I was like, "No, I have ten pair or so." She asked, "Well, how many handbags?" I replied, "I don't carry a purse at all." Duh, that's why I wear a bra. My debit card tucks nicely in there and it easy to find.
I'm really starting to think I should do more with myself but I've never really been all that into "girly" stuff. I mean I was the girl that took wood shop for four years! I spent my weekends as a teen hanging out in a garage modifying lowrider trucks and going to car shows. In my twenties I worked at Consolidated Freight and Ford Motor Company on the assembly line. I'm pretty sure my "inner fashonista" is a wallet carrying lesbian. (No offense if you are a wallet carrying lesbian)
I feel that I'm getting older it's time to fix my hair, wear makeup and maybe even put on clothes that don't look like I'm still in my pajamas. But lets not get crazy. Oh jewelry let's not forget about jewelry. I should probably wear jewelry. For what reason, though? I mostly spend my day cleaning or running errands. So should I get up early to be more presentable so I can come back to clean toilets. Yes, I probably should.
Anyone want to volunteer to do a fashion makeover on me? Well, my hair is almost dry. I'm going to bed.
i'm kind of a tomboy too, so i know what you mean. i wear minimal makeup, less on the weekends, and when i wear a dress to work they think it's a national emergency. but i wear a lot of jewelry cause i like it, and i buy fancy purses and cowboy boots cause i like them. if You Want to make some changes, do them to please you (or Mr. Hehir), not to try to blend in with the crowd. who wants to blend anyway. pick something you like and highlight that, and if that stuff doesn't interest you, then don't worry about it. i'm always unhappy when I don't like the way i look, so i dress to please myself. i think that's the way to go. but just from chats i've had with your fellow, i know he's all about you having whatever you want, so when you do decide on something, go for it!!! :)
ReplyDeleteJane, it's funny you say you dress up to please yourself. I totally get what you mean. It's weird to me that when I'm not feeling good in general that is the day I will do more with myself. It's as if I look better I will somehow feel better. It must work because I continue to do it. As far as Ryan...I truly believe he doesn't notice if I'm in my pajamas or an evening gown. As far as blending in with the crowd, never really been my thing.
DeleteThat was pretty funny.
ReplyDeleteI was not configured in such a way as to be mildly acceptable when going out in public without some makeup. My children would disown me. I inherited my mother's eyebrows (which means all but the inner part of them disappeared completely about 15 years ago, so if I don't draw them on, I look like a freak of nature). Since I was a teenager, I have had pores the size of basketballs on and around my nose, so that's GOT to get covered up. And my skin is so pale that if I don't whip out a little encouragement (foundation / blush), I look like a character from "Dark Shadows." Apparently I do apply it all well though. A student told one of my teachers just yesterday that "Ms. Parker does NOT wear makeup. She doesn't need it!" I just about cracked up. If they had any idea what a hag I look like without it, they'd be in shock.
You must be doing a great job with your makeup! I'm pretty sure ppl aren't suppose to know you're wearing it. Girls got some skills. I feel so weird when I put on eyeshadow and such I guess I'm just not accustomed to seeing my face look like a rainbow. I'm sure I'm not doing it right. I should probably watch some youtube videos.
