Little Rock, Arkansas

What to do for Fall Break? We decided to take a trip to Little Rock. It is just about two and a half hours from Memphis. I did a little research on www.tripadvisor. com The Flying Fish of Little Rock was ranked #6  so we figured we'd give it a try. I didn't know at the time it was a chain and there is one in Memphis.
You order from a sign board and are given a beeper to pick up your food when it's ready. You get your own condiments and refills. We were there on a Wednesday and the place was pretty busy. Ryan got a shrimp poboy and a soda. Ansley got a shrimp and catfish combo. ChaChi got a kid's meal and I got the two filet combo meal. I thought the food was pretty good. I'd like to try the one in Memphis to see how it compares. Our bill was $36.41 for lunch.

Our next stop was the Museum of Discovery. We loved this place! If you've never been it is worth checking out. For two adults and two kids admission was $36.00
Lots of hands on educational stations that are energy related.

This lets you compare the energy you need to light an incandescent vs a compact fluorescent.

Pulley systems
Electromagnetic field, yes I was totally freaked out that other people had those on their heads. So far, we haven't noticed any lice.
The object was to try to clear your mind so that a little ball would roll away from you. We found what Ryan can do best...relax and clear his thoughts. I suspect he fell asleep. He never lost a match.

They even had a small display of some reptiles.
 The weather desk.

After we left the museum, we walked over to the Riverfront Park.

"Little Rock"

 Small play area.

If you look closely you will notice this guy has the outline of Arkansas on his left calf with a star in the place of Little Rock. I should have asked him where to eat. I bet he knows all the good places.

It was really nice that there was so much to do within walking distance. We made a quick stop to our hotel, Comfort Inn to checkin. I chose this hotel because of its rank on tripadvisor. It was about three miles from the River Market but it had a shuttle service available. We spent $95.89 on the hotel. We were automatically upgraded to a suite because I am a member of Choice Privileges. Yes, it sounds exclusive...but it's free. We drove about seven miles to eat at The Purple Cow. I had a patty melt and everyone else had burgers that come with chips. The atmosphere was similar to a 50's diner and the quality of the food was comparable to Steak and Shake. However the shakes were amazing. I have to say the best I have ever had. We spent $45.06 for dinner and three shakes. They are really big so I just sampled everyone else's.

We had a great time! Our total cost for the day in Little Rock was $213.36. That is equal to what one night in a condo at the beach would have cost. Sure, we didn't get to lay on the beach or by the pool but we did have fun! Crap, I miss the beach!

Vesta Home Show

I went to the Vesta Home Show today. I really enjoyed it. If you get the chance to check it out I recommend it. Save two bucks on your ticket by going here first, www.vestahomeshow.com.

If you notice the bald man in the jacket is the Henco Furniture man "It's worth the drive." and his daughter. Their store provided the furnishings for some of the homes. I overheard a woman in her 70's complain to her friend about getting stuck talking to the man. I'm thinking how long do you have to talk for a 70 year old women to get bored! So if you see him, steer clear.
I love this bedroom! I like the mirrored night stands.
I want the retractable screens for the back porch. How cool is that?

Yes, that is chicken wire in the cabinets.

I like the shape of those green chairs. They were really comfortable.
I liked the way this room was set up for different purposes.

Love, Love, Loved the framed chalk boards. This was in a laundry room.

More retractable screened porches. Also, notice the swinging bed.
ChaChi even had a good time. You know, after he knocked down those dominos he had to play checkers.
I can't even imagine this being practical for five minutes. My kids would have holes knocked in the walls in no time.
3D TV's We can't even keep up with remotes around here. I doubt we could keep up with those glasses.

 Time for a photo stop.

Pretty sure ChaChi planted his little butt in all the chairs.

I loved the way this house was decorated the best. I like all the pops of color.

Would love to have a fire pit!

He is cracking me up! He enjoyed it as much as I.
I thought this kitchen layout was similar to ours.
These furnishings came from www.stashhome.com We bought our new dining table from Stash. I'll post pics as soon as I find some chairs to go with it.
I like how they put a desk behind the sofa.

 This shower is just awesome!

I wore heels today...which was incredibly stupid. Make sure to wear some comfortable shoes because you will be doing a good bit of walking. There five homes to go through but they are all in the same culdesac. Don't forget your camera!

Public service announcement

You may have read that building this house has been my excuse for gaining weight. Now that I am partially settled I have tried to get back to the gym. I went yesterday and I get on the treadmill for a warm up. I have on my workout pants and a tank top, this is my usual attire. As I begin run my pants keep slipping down, and I keep pulling them up. Then I realize, it's not my pants, it's my panties. So I'm checking the reflection in the television mounted on my treadmill to see it there is anyone behind me so I can fish my hand down my backside and straighten things out. Sure enough, there is a guy on the elliptical behind me. I try to be nonchalant and look like I'm pulling up my pants. Every few seconds I'm tugging at these blasted underwear. Sure, I could have stopped and gone to the bathroom. If your like me, you have a debate every morning if you should go to the gym or stay home and clean or binge on ice cream. Once I made it inside, there was no stopping me. I thought surely once I start sweating these babies will be stuck to my non existent booty and I would be golden. Didn't happen. By the time I got off the treadmill my panties were all bunched up around my thighs. Let this serve as a reminder, make sure your panties fit before you get on the treadmill.
